Dubai Shopping Mall Opening Hours
Shoppers and residents in Dubai are in for a treat as Dubai shopping malls will be open from 10am to 12 midnight throughout this month.
A directive was issued in this regard taking into account the influx of visitors to Dubai during the ongoing Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) and to drive retail sector revenues and footfall in malls.
The same directive gives outlets in Dubai malls the option to remain open beyond the new timings in July, thus making it possible for retailers to keep stores in Dubai open well past midnight. Restaurants in Dubai malls will be open between 10am and 1am on weekdays.
The decision to extend timings for Dubai Shopping Malls was taken after discussions with the DSMG board of directors and retail owners, who were receptive to the idea of extra working hours in the evening to attract shoppers in Dubai on weekdays.
Numerous researches and studies in recent months have placed Dubai as a leading retail destination in the world, only falling behind London. Laila Suhail, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Events and Promotions Establishment, said that DEPE was keenly monitoring the retail sector to enhance its growth and performance.
The Dbai malls extended working hours throughout July presents opportunities for retailers to have increased sales and footfall while shoppers in Dubai have the opportunity to make the best of summer sales at their own convenience.
Eisa Adam Ibrahim, Board of Directors member of Dubai Shopping Malls Group, said the new directive will certainly benefit all stakeholders though malls in Dubai have been witnessing a notable increase in footfall since the start of DSS that has also coincided with the summer break in schools across the GCC.
